The idea to take into Classic
The Star group clears even outside the 3x3 area. Extra space depends on which other occupied cells fall inside that area, not just how close it is to the middle.
Give your next die a plan
Look for shared edges, check where the upgrade will land, and count the space a clear can reach. Classic gives you time to think.
